Oil & Gas
The oil and gas industry, both in Indonesia and globally, has experienced dramatic volatility. Oil and gas business industry in Indonesia is arguably now in a transitional phase, with a growing domestic need for gas (both for consumers and industrial use). In terms of where the industry is right now, crude oil production in Indonesia has been on a downward trend for the past decade, with most oil production now coming from mature fields. Indonesia’s gas industry is also being pressured by more competitive LNG markets, new pipeline exports, and increasing domestic gas demand.
With more than a decade of experience, our lawyers have represented clients, over the years in high profile domestic and cross border oil and gas transactions. We worked with, and as counterpart to, government agencies, state owned enterprises, national oil and gas companies, investors and partners, issuers, underwriters, operators, contractors, suppliers and, among others, to structure, negotiate, document and fund complex and challenging oil and gas exploration, development and production projects.
Our lawyers in the oil and gas practice are experienced in handling legal and business issues across all segments of the oil and gas value chain. These include upstream exploration and production (conventional, unconventional, onshore and offshore); midstream (gathering, storage, transportation and processing); downstream (storage, refining and trading); oil and gas services (EPC, strategic alliance, joint operation); LNG; and infrastructure.
